Downloading Clips
Once you've found the clips you want, downloading is straightforward. B-Roll Me downloads only the segment you need, not the entire video.
Preview Before Downloading
Click on any search result to open the Preview Modal. This shows:
- • An embedded YouTube player starting at the suggested timestamp
- • Start and end time controls with +/−1 and +/−5 second adjustment buttons
- • Transcript matches as clickable segments — click to jump to that timestamp
- • Evaluation score and description (if evaluated)
Adjust the start and end times until you have exactly the segment you want, then click Download Clip.

Download Queue
Downloads are managed through a queue system. When you click download, the clip is added to the queue and processing starts automatically. The queue panel shows:
- • Status — Pending, Downloading, Complete, Error, or Cancelled
- • Progress — Real-time download progress from yt-dlp
- • Cancel — Stop an active download at any time
Download Best Clips
The Download Best Clips button automatically selects the highest-scored clip for each moment and queues them all for download. This is the fastest way to get usable B-Roll from a completed evaluation.

How Segment Downloads Work
B-Roll Me uses yt-dlp with the --download-sections flag to download only the time range you specified. ffmpeg handles the segment extraction. Both tools are bundled with the app — no separate installation required.
